Haiti Air Ambulance (HAA) was established in 2014, focused on programming in Haiti, including for emergencies and medical evacuation.  In 2026, Rescue Response International (RRI) was formed as a sister organization to HAA to broaden the geographic focus of the organization. RRI builds on the initial track record of HAA’s success in Haiti to respond to disasters in the United States and across Latin America and the Caribbean RRI also provides support globally to governments during “blue sky” times by expanding the capacity building and training efforts of the team and providing expert policy and disaster risk reduction (DRR) advisory services. 

RRI responds to disasters across the United States, Latin America, and the Caribbean. Depending on the size and scale of the emergency, RRI may also respond to other disasters globally, including leveraging our network of logistics partners.

RRI maintains close existing relationships with host governments, which help the organization plug directly into the response ecosystems in host countries as a trusted source.  Our use of air assets allows us to reach communities “marooned” by disaster, for example when landslides or flooding impact road conditions. We maintain strategic partnerships with other NGOs, and operate using an “open architecture” model of humanitarian service delivery, moving humanitarian goods from a variety of partners, ensuring data and information flows openly, and that we can help plug holes as needed. Our ability to stay agile and responsive to the needs of host nation governments and our donors and partners empowers us to make big things happen quickly, staying responsive to needs on the ground and working to ensure that no community or individual is left behind during response efforts.

Rescue Response International is a 501c3 organization, based in Melville, NY.  To maintain our ability to allocate as many of our resources directly into our critical programming as possible, we don’t maintain a physical office space. All of our staff is remote and is able to surge to disaster areas within 24-72 hours.
